The project „plant b“ deals with alternative manufacturing methods in design.
Since the responsible use of resources („circularity“) is an important topic in material design today, we would like to develop promising and sustainable alternatives for the production of digitally designed structures.

Therefore, we have already designed a method to produce a complex spatial structure from cellulose in a 3D printer and to set it with a growing organism (wheat grass and mycelium) and various waxes (stearin- and beeswax).
The resulting composite is biodegradable and can be returned to the production process.
